Freehold Social Structure

The city of Freehold is in independent organization loosely based around the ideals of medieval Switzerland.

The city itself welcomes trade, and gains income by being an open city providing services to others, while the military forces serve as a a mercenary company for hire.  The basic premise is a city of professional soldiers whose income comes from trade, residency of guests in the city proper, and outside mercenary work.  What this provides to the player who has both the skill and the demeanor to make use of it, is PVP oriented game play in a mature and semi-casual military environment.

There are five basic social categories in Freehold.

Citizens.  Members of the clan of Freehold proper, each member being an active fighting unit that serves to defend the interests of the Guests and Public and the City, and operates as a neutral and independent mercenary company.

The ideal citizen is skilled in PVP or willing to improve, able to follow direction and take initiative when needed, and can operate successfully in a highly cooperative environment.  The nature of Freehold also requires a degree of maturity and professionalism about the business of providing an environment for the guests and public.

Militia.  Members of the recruitment and training organization "The Freehold Militia", which is a focused all-race military training organization for new players and a try out organization for recruitment into Freehold.

Mercenaries.   Clans who are offered use of the city in exchange for their services defending it.
These clans are expected to be able to muster a majority of the numbers they are awarded slots for within their promised time-frames.

Guests.   Members of outside clans who are currently renting a bind slot in freehold.

Public.  Anyone not in one of the above categories.
